Meet the Team
EDGE is supported by a range of local partners who have made a commitment to share resource and expertise to deliver a new service for businesses and individuals at Alconbury Weald and the wider Huntingdonshire district. The group work with businesses, schools, business networks and government.
EDGE is an innovative example of private, public and third sector working together to deliver the skills needed for a vibrant economic future for the area and the local community.
Rachel Kelly – EDGE Coordinator
Rachel is the Development and Project Manager for Groundwork East, a community charity that, amongst other things, runs locally-led employability projects in a range of skills including horticulture and construction. Rachel has extensive experience helping long term unemployed people back into work.
Julie Drummond – EDGE Coordinator
Julie is an Economic Development Officer for Huntingdonshire District Council with responsibility for skills. Through the EDGE Coordinator role Julie shares her knowledge with partners and works with educational establishments to help them prepare young people for the labour market.
Carl Watkins – EDGE Advisor
Carl works with Jobcentre Plus and brings local and national labour market expertise to inform partners and customers on current and future trends. Carl also offers broad-based benefits knowledge on access to ‘getting ready for work schemes’ and work trials/work experience placements.
Andrea Finbow – EDGE Advisor
Andrea works for Groundwork East as an Employment and Community Project Supervisor, running projects in horticulture and landscaping for unemployed people to gain skills, experience and certified qualifications to help progress their career related goals. Andrea is a qualified Careers Advisor and offers one to one advice and support, including advice with job searching, writing applications and skills for interviews.
Christine Dade – EDGE Advisor
Christine is a tutor and National Careers Service Advisor for Cambridgeshire County Council. Based at Huntingdon Learning Centre, Christine offers a range of support and guidance to anyone wishing to progress into employment or develop their career. This includes one to one assistance with CV writing.
Alison Betts – EDGE Advisor
Alison is Senior Transition Advisor for Huntingdonshire at Cambridgeshire County Council. She provides impartial careers, education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) for young people aged 15-18 years who are not in education, employment or training and need guidance with future career options.
Julia Young – EDGE Advisor
Julia is Huntingdonshire Regional College’s Information Advisor and the first point of contact for advice about college courses and general information for all ages attending college. Julia can advise on suitable courses, qualifications required and progression routes.
Rebecca Britton – Communications, Communities and Partnerships
Rebecca works for Urban&Civic, the owner and developer of Alconbury Weald and a founding member of EDGE. Urban&Civic is committed to supporting local people gain the relevant skills and careers guidance to make the most of the creation of over 8,000 jobs expected from the delivery and development of Alconbury Weald over the next 20 years.
